December 2007 marked a very important milestone in the international development of moveon. Stellenbosch University in South Africa became the first Institution of Higher Education outside of Europe to choose moveon for the management of its international affairs. Stellenbosch University was established in 1866 and today has approximately 22,500 students. The university places a large emphasis on developing internationalisation and strengthening integration between local and international students.

The National Yang Ming University in Taipei, Taiwan is the first Asian university and second non-European institution to join the moveon community of users. Since it was founded in 1974, the National Yang Ming University has continually grown to become a medium sized university and today takes a proactive role in recruiting international students.
