02 Apr QS and UUKi launch the QS MoveON ‘Stand Out’ Scholarship for 2020
At the midst of Brexit talks, QS and UUKi join forces to launch a new scholarship designed for students applying to Erasmus Programmes for 2020. This initiative aims to encourage continued student exchange between the UK and EU and reinforces the benefits of international mobility programmes for university students.
As Nunzio Quacquarelli, CEO of QS, states in the press release announcing the new scholarship last week: “The QS pledge is a demonstration of our commitment to our mission: to enable motivated people anywhere in the world to fulfil their potential through educational achievement, international mobility and career development. An international exchange improves language skills, cultural understanding, and employability outcomes.”
QS has been a pioneer in fostering international mobility including having launched MoveON software in 2003 for universities interested in partnering with other higher education institutions worldwide – in order to offer a wide range of student exchange programmes, including the Erasmus Programme for undergraduates, international Master’s degrees and internships, Postgraduate research partnerships, among other opportunities.
MoveON currently supports over 150,000 student exchanges and is used by 300 Universities across the globe. Olivier Tane, Global Head of Client Success, states in the press release that: “MoveON is an industry leader helping the development of the Erasmus Without Paper network to digitalise the experience of administrators and mobility-seeking students. Continued mobility between UK and Continental European Universities is for the benefit of future European generations.”
To be eligible for the QS MoveON scholarship, students are required to submit a 500-800 word blog article on topics relating to their motivations to study abroad. Scholarships for UK Outbound Students to attend Continental European Universities will be selected by UUKi. And scholarships for Continental European Students looking to attend UK universities will be selected by QS.
In 2020, up to eight successful candidates will receive a scholarship for the length of their international exchange programme.
